You don’t need to reach for questionable energy drinks or supplements. These energy solutions can increase your energy levels naturally.

In today’s blog post I’m going to share with you my favorite tips on how to naturally increase your energy level this fall season.

How to Boost Energy Naturally This Fall

Fall is here and it’s time to get ready for the cooler months. As the temperature drops, so does our energy levels. That’s why it’s important to have a plan in place that will help you maintain your health during these cold months!

1. Get More Sleep

It is easy to forget about sleep when you are working. According to the CDC, around 30% of the population doesn’t get enough sleep. According to the CDC, adults should get 7-9 hours sleep each night.

A lack of sleep can lead to feeling tired, lethargic, or grumpy. This can make it difficult for you to focus.

Are you having trouble falling asleep? Relaxing bedtime routines can help your body and mind recognize it’s time to go to sleep. Use natural products that promote relaxation and a limit on screen time before bed.

2. Stress Less

Although stress is common, it can cause anxiety and depression. You can feel tired and unmotivated if you have high levels of stress. Tension and stress have also been linked to fatigue.

Although it is impossible to eliminate all stress from your life, you can reduce the stress sources that you have control of and increase your energy. Meditation and mindfulness can be helpful in coping with stress.

4. Stay Hydrated

The human body is composed of between 55-75% water depending on your gender and age. Your body requires water regardless of whether you’re exercising or doing a desk job. Water is lost throughout the day so it is vital to drink enough water to make up for that loss. Dehydration can cause problems in your brain, mood, energy, and brain function.

Even a small amount of dehydration can have serious consequences for your body. According to the CDC, adults should drink 64 ounces of fluids per day. Remember that your body will require more water if you exercise or spend time outdoors in heat.

5. Walk More

A walk can be more effective than taking a nap if you feel tired. It may seem counterintuitive for someone feeling tired to get up and move, but research has shown that exercise regularly, with low intensity, can increase energy levels.

Moving around throughout the day can help you increase your energy levels if you’re sedentary. Do 2 minutes of exercise every 1-2 hours. This could include jumping jacks, walking for a while, or even a quick walk.

6. Spend Time Outside

People spend a lot of time indoors, often under fluorescent lighting. You can feel physically and mentally fatigued if you work in cold offices or near computer screens. Recent studies have shown that being outside can improve your energy and your health.

Breathing in the fresh air and getting out in nature can boost your mood and energize your body. It also allows you to get the Vitamin D your body needs.

7. Get Your Micronutrients

Did you know that micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids are crucial for your energy levels? Your physical and mental energy levels may drop if your body is deficient in certain micronutrients such as Omegas, Iron, or Vitamin B-12.

It is crucial to ensure your body has the right micronutrients to be able to function well. Supplements can help you get the nutrients your body needs.

8. Take a Break

Take small breaks throughout the day – Studies show that taking brief pauses between work tasks can improve concentration and focus while decreasing stress hormones like cortisol (which is linked with anxiety). This means you’ll be more productive when working AND less likely to experience anxiety symptoms.

It’s no secret that the hustle and bustle of everyday life can leave us feeling exhausted. Luckily, there are some foods out there that provide an easy way to get your energy back! Check out this list of five natural energy boosting foods that you should try in order to keep up with the demands of your busy day.

From the video: I’m going to talk about the five foods you absolutely need to have in your diet to naturally boost your energy, and then share at the very end my favorite supplements for also naturally boosting energy levels.

The number one food you’ve got to start consuming to improve your energy level is coconut oil. Coconut contains medium chain fatty acids, which have been shown to help your body burn fat for energy. Other fats, like olive oil and, let’s say, things like canola oil, those are longer chain fats. Your body has to go through a 26-step process to use those for energy.

The second food that can boost your energy is chia seeds. In fact, historically chia seeds have been known as runners’ food. They are your highest plant-based source of protein. They’re loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, and your body can burn those for energy.

The third food group that you got to get in your diet if you want to boost your energy is more green, leafy vegetables and green super foods. Green, leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and collard greens are loaded with chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is like the life blood of a plant. It’s very alkaline to your body.

It helps reduce acidity. It’s been shown to naturally improve energy levels. Also, those green, leafy vegetables are packed with magnesium. Magnesium is a key electrolyte, supporting cellular function, as well as supporting muscle growth and function.

The fourth food you got to get in your diet if you want to boost your energy level is fruit. Now, I want to mention this with fruit. You’ve got to consume fruit in moderation. Consuming too much fruit will actually zap and decrease your energy levels.

But if you get the proper amount, which is about one to two servings a day, it can actually increase your energy. Reason being, fruit is full of good carbohydrates that are simple for your body to digest, in fact, much more simple than grains. Your body has to do no work to digest fructose. It goes right from your gut into your bloodstream, and it’s used for energy.

The last thing here is adding some good quality supplements into your energy diet regimen. Some of my favorites include a green superfood powder. Green superfood contains super nutrients like chlorella, spirulina, wheat grass juice. Those are fantastic.

The other group of supplements that I’d recommend for boosting your energy are adaptogenic herbs. Adaptogens mean they help your body better deal with stress, but these have been shown to help you overcome thyroid issues, adrenal fatigue, and other things that can be related to low energy.

So my favorite adaptogen herbs are ashwagandha, rhodiola, ginseng, and holy basil. These adaptogenic herbs can absolutely boost your energy and leave you feeling great.

So add those five super foods and supplements into your diet, and I think you’re going to see your energy is going to soar.
